Spanish Learning Application
-
The “Spanish Learning App” called Hola Sol teaches kids Spanish through engaging, speech-driven activities while giving parents valuable insights into their child’s progress. Started in July 2024, this ongoing project highlights my role as a product designer, emphasizing UX/UI design and research to create an intuitive, effective learning tool.
-
Identified pain points include:
Limited Spanish curriculum in schools
Challenges for English speakers communicating with native Spanish speakers
Lack of suitable programs for young learners.
Parents of bilingual households often face time constraints
There’s a need for oral proficiency in Spanish.
-
Voice-Enabled Learning: Speech as primary input, mimicking natural conversation.
Curiosity-Led Design: Play-based self-discovery and gamification.
Parental Features: Safety controls, progress tracking, and collaborative tools.
Wireframes and Lo-Fi Prototypes
During the wireframes and lo-fi prototype phase, we mapped out the child user’s journey through the lesson flow. This phase focused on designing an intuitive navigation system that aligns with their natural learning behaviors, ensuring the experience felt seamless and engaging from start to finish. This foundational work was critical in shaping the user-centered design of the app.
Hi-Fi Prototypes
For the hi-fi prototypes, we developed a cohesive design system to ensure visual and functional consistency across the app. This phase focused on refining the user flow, enhancing usability, and creating an engaging experience tailored to both the child user and their parents. The design system served as a foundation for scalability and future iterations.
